The second-year wide receiver figures Antworten

to be a big part of the offense this upcoming season." Denver Broncos Roster2019 Broncos roster: Wide receiver DaeSean HamiltonNew Joe Flacco Jersey White ,24commentsThe second-year wide receiver figures to be a big part of the offense this upcoming season.MDTThe Denver Broncos selected former Penn State wide receiver DaeSean Hamilton in the fourth round, pick 113 of the 2018 NFL Draft. The wide receiver who the Broncos decision-makers were able to see up close and personal at the Reese’s Senior Bowl paired with second-round pick Courtland Sutton to give the team their future at wide receiver. Now the second year wide receiver will look to have a breakout year in newly hired Offensive Coordinator Rich Scangarello’s offense. DaeSean Hamilton ProfileHeight: 6’1” | Weight: 203 pounds | 40-time: 4.52 seconds* (Pro day time)Arm length: 31” | Hands: 9 3/8” Vertical jump: 34.5 inches | Broad jump: 118.0 inches | 3-Cone Drill: 6.84 seconds20-Yard Shuttle: 4.15 secondsHamilton played a total of four seasons for Penn State and was a consistent weapon for their offense during his time with them. During his four year career, Hamilton totaled 214 receptions for 2,842 yards and 18 touchdown receptions. During his final year at Penn State, Hamilton totaled 53 receptions for 857 yards and 9 touchdowns. His performance during his senior season earned him an invite to the Reese’s Senior Bowl where he shined on the practice field. He showed off his advanced route running ability in front of the Broncos decision makers as they were coaching the North squad, the same squad that featured DaeSean Hamilton. After spending much of the first half of the 2018 season active, but on the bench for the Broncos offense, Hamilton really began to shine in the second half. Demaryius Thomas was traded away and Emmanuel Sanders suffered a season-ending injury, so his window for playing time opened. Hamilton started the final five games of the season and caught 25 receptions and two touchdowns during that five-game span. In total, Hamilton caught 30 receptions for 243 yards, and 2 touchdowns for the Broncos. Hamilton told reporters earlier this offseason that he’s further ahead as a player right now than he was at this time last year. He also said he is running “a lot more routes” which is a plus for someone who is expected to be your slot receiver. Hamilton is expected to make a big jump this year as most second-year players often do. However, he’s learning his second NFL offense in two years, but by the sounds of it, he believes this offense could be a “well-oiled machine” if everything goes correctly this year. I for one hope Hamilton’s assessment of Offensive Coordinator Rich Scangarello’s offense and its potential productivity come true this upcoming season. The good Hamilton is potentially the best route runner on the team. Going through the pre-draft process, his route running ability was evident, especially at the Senior Bowl. I remember watching these practices and him owning defensive backs in these one on one drills was happening rep after rep. His route running ability is why I see him primarily being used in the slot in the Broncos offense. He always finds himself open which should make him a favorite of veteran starting quarterback Joe Flacco,He can also hold his own on the outside as well. He doesn’t have blazing speed, but his route running ability helps him gain separation and he has the size/physicality to win contested catches. He proved this during his short five-game stint as a starter for the Broncos late last season. He should continue getting starting reps this season, especially with Emmanuel Sanders returning from an Achilles injury. I doubt that Sanders will be ready come the start of Training Camp, so I expect Hamilton to open camp as a starter opposite of fellow second-year wide receiver Courtland Sutton. These starting reps figure to be valuable for a young player in a new offense and hopefully, he can turn these reps into production during the year. Hamilton was asked recently if he met his expectations last season and he replied that they were a “little bit below” from what he expected. He continued that he has high expectations for himself and hopes to pick up where he left off last season for the Broncos. I’m personally a big fan of Hamilton and was surprised that he lasted until the fourth round of the 2018 draft. I assumed his strong Senior Bowl would vault him into the second day of the draft, but the NFL’s poor decision making was the Broncos gain in this case. I expect big things out of Hamilton this upcoming year. The badThere really is not a ton of bad to report on Hamilton. Obviously, Hamilton is not a burner or an overly athletic wide receiver. He has good enough size but doesn’t have the big catch radius that you want, but again, it’s good enough. He has already proven that he can be productive in the NFL despite these “limitations” albeit in a very small sample size. Photo by Lachlan Cunningham/Getty ImagesMy biggest concern is his tendency to drop the ball at times. It is something that plagued him at times in college even though he improved on it throughout his time there. I also did not really notice him drop many balls last season Womens Courtland Sutton Jersey , but it is still something to keep an eye on. Finally, you have the addition of Noah Fant potentially lowering him a bit in the pecking order in the passing game. Sutton and Sanders(if/when he’s healthy) figure to be your top two targets in the passing game while Fant will likely earn a bigger role as the season goes on. So those two things could potentially limit his numbers some this season before likely taking over for Sanders next season.QuotableDaeSean Hamilton on building chemistry with quarterback Joe Flacco“Joe throws a great ball and he has a strong arm. Really just getting these practices under our belt, getting all the reps together, building the chemistry like you said, really just getting used to one another, and getting used to all the receivers, everyone in the receiving core. Working with Joe so far, it’s been great. Like I said, I love catching his passes. He has a great arm. He has great touch as well, and throughout mini camp and all his OTAs he’s had great command of the offense and delivering a good ball making sure it’s in the right position and the offense is rolling.”DaeSean Hamilton HighlightsDaeSean Hamilton’s roster status with the BroncosHe is clearly locked into a roster spot and very likely locked in as a starting wide receiver for the Broncos come week one. Emmanuel Sanders health will likely play into Hamilton’s role as the season goes on. If Sanders is eased back or even placed on the PUP, Hamilton will be your number two receiver in the offense. If Sanders is good to go come week one, he will be your number three/slot receiver come week one.I think no matter his role in the offense, we will see a productive one from Hamilton and I am anxious to see how well he does. Denver Broncos football is back!" Denver Broncos Training Camp2019 Denver Broncos Training Camp: Day 1 news and notesNew,41commentsDenver Broncos football is back! MDTIt was a hot day at Dove Valley, but that didn’t stop our Denver Broncos from hitting the field for their first Training Camp practice of the 2019 season.Today we have an update on the quarterbacks(of course), Phillip Lindsay looking electric, the defense bringing the pressure, two young corners having good days, and another UDFA running back making a name for himself during Broncos camp?Disclaimer: I was not at camp and this is just a collection of news and notes from other sources with my thoughts and opinions sprinkled in. Quarterback updateIt was an up and down day for the quarterbacks, but that should be expected during the first day of Training Camp. However, both Joe Flacco and rookie Drew Lock made some big throws during practice today.Flacco hit rookie wide receiver Juwann Winfree for a 20-yard or so touchdown pass. Lock followed in the veteran footsteps by hitting former cornerback now wide receiver Brendan Langley for a 50-yard touchdown pass. The first big “wow play” of camp and one we could see a lot during the upcoming days and weeks of practices. Lock by all accounts had a solid all around day during his first ever Training Camp practice, however, he wasn’t the number two quarterback during today’s session. Vetern Kevin Hogan came in after Joe Flacco and really didn’t have a great day per reports. One rough sequence of plays ended in an interception for Hogan. After practice, Head Coach Vic Fangio was asked what about Joe Flacco stood out to him and he mentioned his calm demeanor.Fangio was also asked what he wants to see from rookie quarterback Drew Lock throughout the remainder of the Training Camp practices and he kept it simple. He told reporters that he wants to see Lock improve in all areas and “just become a quarterback”.Locks development will be something to watch throughout the remainder of camp but it sounds like he had himself a solid first day. Phillip Lindsay looking electricShocker, Phillip Lindsay looked electric today. He sat out the entire offseason because he was recovering from a wrist injury that he suffered late in the year last year Womens Von Miller Jersey , but returned to the field today. The Broncos were expected to ease him back into things, but that wasn’t the case today. He took the first rep of practice today and was used in the passing game as well. Head Coach Vic Fangio told reporters that he thought that Lindsay looked good today and that he shouldn’t be surprised because he has been chomping at the bit.Quarterback Joe Flacco was asked about Lindsay and he mentioned his energy and personality as something that stands out about him.Lindsay figures to be a featured player in Rich Scangarello’s offense and I am excited to see how it all plays out.Cornerbac Isaac Yiadom stood out todaySecond-year corner Isaac Yiadom needed to step up in a big way this year and if the first Training Camp practice is any indication of what is to come, he will be making that second-year jump.During one rep, he made an impressive leaping interception off a deep bomb from veteran quarterback Joe Flacco. He made a nice adjustment to get in front of the wide receiver and get to the ball to make the interception. It was nice to hear that Yiadom was out there making plays today. The Broncos need him to make that second-year leap to give their conerback group that much more depth and versatility. It was just one practice, an unpadded practice, but a great startAnother UDFA star at running back for the Broncos? Each year some player comes out of nowhere to make a name for himself during Training Camp. Last season, it was undrafted rookie running back Phillip Lindsay. Could the Broncos find themselves yet another UDFA runner to become a big-time contributor? Well, UDFA runner Devontae Jackson is trying to do just that and by all accounts had himself a solid day.Jackson is listed at just 5-7, 176 pounds, but he’s elusive in space. He has the speed to make people miss and take it to the house whenever he touches the ball. So despite being undersized, he could be a fun weapon for the Broncos offense if he continues this sort of play. However, I would caution that we wait until the pads come on before claiming Jackson is the next Phillip Lindsay. Smaller speed guys always excel during non-contact/non-padded practices. We have seen it before with Isaiah McKenzie and Ronnie Hillman. Both always stood out during these practices and went silent when things got physical. Jackson is still a name to watch and to keep an eye on during the coming days.News and notesNewly signed Kareem Jackson played safety in the Broncos 1st team defense during team drills today. We will probably see him move around some, but it appears he will be a safety first.UDFA edge rusher Malik Reed stood out today. He consistently put pressure on the second and third team quarterbacks according to reports. He faces stiff competition to make the 53-man roster but performances like this help his case. Courtland Sutton dealt with some drops during today’s practice and will need to clean that up moving forward. Von Miller was Von Miller today. He was after quarterback Joe Flacco all day today. So as usual, Von is already ruining the first-team offenses day.Cornerback De’Vante Bausby hauled in an interception off quarterback Kevin Hogan during a tip drill. It was a “right time right place” scenario, but he showed a nice nose for the ball. Guard Ron Leary took first-team reps at right guard today but was spelled by Don Barclay on occasion.Injury reportStarting inside linebacker Todd Davis was carted off the field with an ankle/foot injury and will undergo an MRI and X-Ray on it. Thankfully, it sounds like it was a minor injury that shouldn’t be an issue moving forward but we are still waiting for official word on it. Update: The injury is a bit more severe than originally anticipated and he will be out 3 to 4 weeks with a partial calf muscle tear.Tight end Bug Howard missed practice because he was sick. Head Coach Vic Fangio speculated that he had food poisoning. Punter Colby Wadman missed practice because of a “family issue back home”Wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders returned to practice as expected but sat out team drills. He looked explosive with no signs of limitations from his torn achilles.Running back Phillip Lindsay looked himself and did not have any issues with a wrist injury that sidelined him for most off the offseasonGuard Ron Leary who is also returning from a torn achilles was on the practice field as well. Finally, we have tight end Jake Butt who was recovering from his third ACL injury taking the field as well. He avoided the PUP and will eased into things, but it is a good sign to see him out there. Tweets from campQuotablesHead Coach Vic Fangio on edge rusher Bradley Chubb“I think Bradley is in a good spot. I do think he is really a guy that we can use and have success in this defense. He is a good edge setter. He is versatile. We can play him inside. He is a very reliable player for a young guy—even when he is dropping, which is rare from those guys who come from college and were primarily defensive ends. He is farther along dropping than most of the guys I’ve seen that have to make that transition. I’m very pleased with him.” Bradley Chubb on Head Coach Vic Fangio saying he is strong fundamentally“I feel like that’s one of the main things I feel like got me to this point where I am at is the fundamentals. Paying attention to those small little details each and every day because when you become great it doesn’t just happen overnight. It happens because you’re paying attention to one small thing each day. I feel like if I just continue to do that, good things will start to happen. I feel like when coach has an emphasis on it, that makes me want to have an emphasis on it as well. Just putting on those one percent each day and just trying to get better as I can.” Joe Flacco on how Scangarello’s offense compares to the Gary Kubiak style of offense that he experienced in Baltimore.“I think there are obviously differences, but a lot of the terminology is the same. I think a lot of the concepts and what you want to do with the ball and the overall philosophy of what we want to do on offense is pretty similar. We have a lot of good running backs. We want to be physical in everything that we do. We want to be able to run the ball that way so we can utilize our play action and do all of the other things that come off of that. I think the philosophy overall is very similar.”
