The St. Louis Blues have returned to the top spot in the TSN.ca NHL Power Rankings, just ahead of the rising Anaheim Ducks and last weeks No. 1, Chicago Blackhawks. The Blues outscored opponents by 20 goals during a recent seven-game winning streak (halted Friday by Vancouver) and are expecting a return from their best player this season, left winger Alexander Steen, who has been sidelined by a concussion. With goaltender Ben Bishop slated to return from injury, the Tampa Bay Lightning vault up from 21 to 12, their highest ranking since early November (in a related story, Steven Stamkos was injured November 11). 8-2-1 in their past 11 games, the New York Rangers have been climbing after a slow start, and are up to 14 from 18 last week, matching their preseason ranking as their highest for the season. Seven wins in 10 games has helped lift the Columbus Blue Jackets, from 24 to 17 this week, who have also had their lineup bolstered recently by goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky and right winger Nathan Horton coming back from injury. Heading the other way, the Dallas Stars have dropped six straight games and fell from 12 to 18, while the Nashville Predators, with one win in the past seven games, are down from 15 to 22. The Toronto Maple Leafs got thumped but good, outscored 21-7 in a four-game span prior to Sundays shootout win, and dropped from 16 to 23, while the Winnipeg Jets were outscored 24-14 during a five-game losing streak that cost head coach Claude Noel his job and knocked the Jets down from 14 to 24 in the rankings. Among other Canadian teams, the Vancouver Canucks remain the highest-ranked, at seven, three spots ahead of the Montreal Canadiens, who are down one spot to 10. The Ottawa Senators are up one, from 17 to 16, same goes for the Edmonton Oilers, from 28 to 27, and the Calgary Flames are crashing, down from 27 to 29. He was cautious Thursday when asked about the possibility of playing.Im not ready to say anything definite yet, Kelce said. Im feeling better, Ill say that. I think were at the point where its not going to get worse by playing.A sports hernia is different than many other football-related injuries, with some unknowns when trying to recover, Kelce said.Theres a pain Im not really used to, Kelce said. Its the type of injury that no matter how hard you work it in the weight room and the training room and everything, theres just certain things in football that put abnormal stresses on your body and are going to tweak it a little bit.Kelce started all 16 games as a rookie in 2011 and all 16 games last year. He missed 14 games in 2012 with a torn ligament in one of his knees. He was a starter this year before hurting himself in the third game against the Washington Redskins.Hes missed the past four games and the Eagles are 2-2 without him.David Molk, an undrafted free agent signed by San Diego in 2012 and who sat out all of 2013, has filled in for Kelce at centre. It takes a little bit of time to work back in there, Eagles offensive co-ordinator Pat Shurmur said of Kelce coming back. Youre certainly working on the things you need to do individually and thenn getting back working in a group.dddddddddddd But theyre pros, theyre veterans, they understand how to deal with injuries and coming back from injuries. So it could be a shorter period of time than it could be for some. The original estimate for Kelces return was the Carolina Panthers game on Nov. 10. If he does make it back this Sunday, he would be a week ahead of schedule.I cant say Im going to be out there and be 100 per cent healthy and not have any issues on Sunday, Kelce said. Because there could be a drastic instance where Im completely off balance and I try to catch myself. Its probably going to be an ongoing thing.Eagles coach Chip Kelly said he will wait until the week ends before making his decision on Kelce.Hes looked good the last couple of days, Kelly said. Well see as we get extended through the week. And then well make a decision on Saturday with him.NOTES: The Eagles had their full squad at Thursdays practice with the exception of safety Nate Allen (hamstring). Allen was on the field for the portion of practice the media is allowed to watch, but was listed as not participating on the official report. Nickel cornerback Brandon Boykin (hamstring) returned after missing Wednesdays practice. Running back Darren Sproles (knee), who missed last Sundays game at Arizona and linebacker Mychal Kendricks (calf), who was limited to 20 plays last week against Arizona, were also practicing. Guard Todd Herremans continued to practice with a torn tricep and wide receiver Brad Smith (groin) also practiced on a limited basis. ' ' '
